New United States Gold Coins Coming Soon

Mark your calendar for December 3, 2009. The US Mint will be producing new United States gold coins. The Margaret Taylor First Spouse gold coins will have a total of 40,000 coins produced which includes proofs and uncirculated pieces.

Margaret Taylor is the wife of former president Zachary Taylor. The coins mark the series which have been in production since 2007. The 24 karat gold coin will have a limit of 10 coins per product option per household. The front of the coin will feature a portrait of Margart Taylor with the words inscribed In God We Trust, Liberty and the years 1849-1850, the years in which she was the first lady. The back depicts the first lady comforting a wounded soldier during the Seminole War.
