1987 Commemorative United States Constitutional Coins
The 1987 Commemorative United States Constitutional coins are a $5 dollar gold coin that was issued with a silver dollar coin marking the 200th anniversary of our United States Constitution. When first released sales were brisk for the gold coin even when mintages fell short of the maximum. The front of the Commemorative gold coin features a modern rendering of an eagle holding a quill pen that is symbolic of the Constitution. The reverse side also features a single quill pen.
These coins were offered for sale as part of a two coin set or individually or offered as a four coin set that included the $5 dollar gold coin and $1 dollar silver coin in proofs and uncirculated finishes.
